Gospel Treatment Program
 
The whole treatment program consists of different stages.  The usual duration of the program will be 12 months.
 1) Application
  1. Intake Meeting: Applicants will have to participate in our religious sessions to experience the bible reading and hymn singing. 
  2. Individual sessions: applicants will be interviewed by our staff individually to collect information and to prepare admission to treatment.  
  3. Brief medical examination: Applicants will be referred to medical laboratory for a basic medical examination prior to admission.
2) Detoxification
  1. Newly admitted brothers will be placed in our detox room for detoxification.  They usually will stay in this room for 1 to 7 nights depending on their physical conditions.   
  2. Our staff and trainee will be monitoring the brother during this detox period. 
  3. We do not provide medication for detoxification.   
3) Rehabilitation
  1. Participate in daily routines in our treatment centre for 9 to 12 months.
  2. Bible reading, sharing and religious sessions are the core program of our treatment.  Through these activities, brothers can know about Jesus Christ and Christian religion more thoroughly.
  3. Brothers aged below 18 are required to participate in our educational program.  The education program includes Chinese language, English language, Mathematics, basic computer usage, physical education and music class.
  4. Therapeutic groups, interpersonal skills training, relapse prevention, emotional trainings will be provided for our brothers.
  5. Selected vocational skills training, physical training, and self-growth trainings will be organized for brothers with different needs.
  6. Complete the 9 months training and transfer to our halfway house.
4) Social re-integration
  1. Living in our halfway house for 3 - 6 months.
  2. Brothers are not allowed to go out alone during the first phase of social re-integration (usually will be 3 months).  All activities will be accompanied or organized by our staff.
  3. Brothers are required to perform daily cleaning duties and job training programs provided by our staff, which includes heavy lifting works and cleaning work.
  4. Brothers are also required to participate in local social service and volunteer services.
  5. Brothers will be referred to local churches for pastoral care.
  6. Family members are welcomed to visit our brothers (by appointment only).
5) Aftercare
  1. Aftercare period: 1- 2 years, depending on the status of the brother.
  2. Caring of brothers’ adjustment to new living at home and at church.
  3. Regular meeting and home visit
  4. Monthly fellowship meeting
  5. Job seeking and social support
  6. Emotional support and crisis management 
6) Family counseling service
  1. Weekly meeting for families of brothers.
  2. Family counseling and reunion meetings
  3. Family crisis management
  4. Home visit and aftercare
